Alpro
Alpro, the plant-based food pioneers, formed in Belgium in 1890. Wanted to double production at their facility in Kettering with a £18.5m investment.
Project Objectives
The objective for the client was to double production of its Coconut, Rice & Oat drinks from 75 million litres a year to 150 million. This would entail a new building, equipment such as storage tanks, sterilisers, filling machines, packaging machines and robots.
Challenges
These kind of production numbers require a lot of services & ultimately consumption of products. Given these were new processes the team at KeyIS had to quickly understand the clients’ requirements and bring together a lot of different mechanical & electrical services to bring the plant to life.
Solution
Key Integrated Services provided a full pre-construction service from initial cost plans through to a RIBA Stage 5 mechanical & electrical services design. Over 2km of stainless-steel pipework was installed, new combined heat & power plant, process electrical installations, new HVAC installations, hygiene washdown facilities, the list goes on.
