Natures Menu
From the beginnings back in the 1980’s selling plain minces for dog foods, Natures menu now produces a huge range of meals for cats and dogs. Made using high quality ingredients they supply to customers across the UK. The project was a £7m investment to develop a 10-acre site into a purpose built 8000m2 production facility to keep up with the growing demand for its raw complete pet foods.
Project Objectives
The main objectives for the team at Key was to design and deliver the mechanical & HVAC services to a state of the art facility with new production lines, equipment, offices and storage facilities to enable the client to cope with the continued demand of the product.
Challenges
Being such a large facility handling raw produce there were many factors to take into consideration to ensure all the clients requirements were being met. The environment had to be maintained within certain parameters to enable the client to carry out low internal temperature production activities.
Solution
Key and the construction team went through a long consultation period with the client to produce a tailored solution. Specialist HVAC systems were used to maintain the environment and a full array of specialist services were designed and installed to serve the production equipment contained within. The services consisted of compressed air, process water, domestics, detergent lines, disinfectant lines and a high pressure hot water wash down system.
The Results
The facility was a huge step in the clients plans for growth and something the team at Key are proud to be part of. It will enable this great product to grow in strength of which we wish Natures Menu continued success.
