Huntingdon Racecourse
Holiday Inn Huntingdon is a modern, eco-friendly hotel on the grounds of Huntingdon Racecourse. With well-equipped conference rooms, a mini gym and fine dining facilities, it is a great hotel for anyone lucky enough to visit.
Project Objectives
The objective was clear, to complete the mechanical services installations for a new build from the ground up. The brand expectations were issued to the team which then went to work to provide a solution.
Challenges
The ground conditions proved challenging on this site, over 4000 tons of substrate had to be delivered to the site to lift the building platform. With the hoteliers expecting high demand, a short programme was issued which we had to deliver on.
Solution
Key Integrated Services provided predominately heat recovery VRF systems. This was due to there being no natural gas supply, so high efficiency air handling plant were used with heat pumps to temper the incoming air supply. Central control capability was provided to oversee the bedrooms to maximise efficiency of the system and keep operating expenditure to a minimum.
The Results
The end result was an absolutely fantastic hotel built in amazing surroundings. It was a complete success from start to finish and the hotel contracted Key Integrated Services directly to maintain the services installed.
