Chep pallets Key Integrated Services


The Project

CHEP manages, maintains, transports and supplies more than 300 million platforms for their customers. Their higher quality pallets, containers, RPCs, bins, trays and store displays support the construction, handling and transport of more efficient and sustainable product loads.

Project Objectives

CHEP and their FM management company, FISco, were looking to award an engineering services maintenance contract at CHEP’s HQ and distribution facility in Trafford Park, Manchester. As part of their key objectives they were looking for a local maintenance company who could provide speed of response to emergency call-outs whilst also being able to self deliver in-house, the scope of services.

The planned, preventative and reactive maintenance services we provide include:

  • Electrical power and distribution
  • Heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems
  • Plumbing services
  • Emergency light testing
  • Roller shutter doors
  • Mechanical and electrical building services
  • General handyman services
  • Minor building fabric maintenance
  • Statutory inspection and testing
  • Reactive and emergency repairs
  • Minor works and installations


To manage the seasonal peaks and troughs and to minimise disruption to the production areas.


Key Integrated Services have developed a bespoke flexible maintenance strategy which allows us to constantly adjust the maintenance activities to be carried out, to minimise disruption across the facilities.

The Results

Key Integrated Services were successfully awarded a long-term contract in 2015, as we were able to clearly demonstrate our ability to self-deliver over 90% of the services with our in-house maintenance teams. Due to the success of the contract and the relationship we have developed, we have been awarded 3 further sites in Yorkshire, the North Eat and West Midlands.
