Fischer Farms
Fischer Farms, who already operate one of the largest vertical farms in the UK, has opened a new 4-acre site in Norfolk, which houses 25,000 m2 of growing space – enough to supply 6.5 tonnes of leaf salad, leafy herbs and other fresh produce to UK supermarkets and other customers every day.
The ground-breaking farm boasts the latest vertical farming innovations and pioneering technology and runs on 100% renewable energy which significantly reduces its carbon footprint.
The highly automated, bio secure, climate-controlled environment uses an energy-efficient LED lighting system, which allows the lights to be placed very close to the plants. This in turn enables tightly stacked layers, maximising the use of land and delivering yields up to 250 times greater than conventional farms.
Following the successful installation project from our in-house design team, KEYIS Maintenance were awarded the contract to ensure the assets remained compliant in line with the warranty and defects liability period and the ongoing statutory maintenance thereafter.
We had to ensure that all their assets were maintained in full working order at all times, 24/7/365.
We also had to ensure that there was minimum disruption to the facility and that there was no downtime for their crucial plant.
We provide a 24/7/365 emergency callout service to Fischer Farms, managed by our service desk team, to ensure that their assets are maintained in full working order at all times.
Working in partnership with Fischer Farms we developed a bespoke maintenance strategy to ensure minimum disruption to the facility and no downtime for their crucial plant through fast response times and stock of critical spares.
The successful planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance services we provided included:
- Electrical power and distribution
